Audible customer service used to be better
Audible customer service used to be much better than it is now. I've been having trouble getting books to download, the app says i'm in the wrong geographical location, the app has completely stopped working when i've been traveling, leaving me with the frustrating inability to finish a book i was reading and had already downloaded on my own hard drive until I could get home to fix the problem. I've had to remove and redownload the app, sign out and sign in, and i've been given the most credulous explanations for why i might be having problems, and not any hard fact based tech support. Last person i spoke to said she could escalate the issue, while at the same time, she fixed the problem by adding the book to my library. Unbelievable. I dread calling them and having to fix any issue.

For a tech based company, they have terrible tech
For the past six months I have struggled with Audible over issue that the Audible sync app does not see my MP3 player and so I cannot load books onto the player. This leaves only my phone for playing book and that is just not always convenient and it uses up battery. I have contacted Audible no less than 6 times asking about the resolution and sometimes I get a person who just reads through the screen script about try reloading the app, etc etc. All of which I have done countless times. Once I got a very nice woman who contacted tech department and then said there were lots of customers all having this problem. Assured me the tech department would be focused on fixing this fast. That was three months ago and not fixed yet. The last person suggested I buy a new player which would absolutely work with audible and amazon has them... probably just a coincidence, I am sure. So I like Audible and have hundreds of titles in my library but am I going to keep my account... not sure. WHY can't this be fixed or if it can't then send me a player that works for free.

Audible's questionable membership practices
Audible locks some titles when you cancel your membership. This is wrong! I paid$. I should keep it!

Add in the cost of buying new devices
If you know all the tricks of how to get the best value you can get an audio book for two pounds when they have a promotion.
But you need to add in the cost of buying new devices on a regular basis because they are constantly changing the apps which work with devices which are more than three or four years old. Currently they have withdrawn the Windows app. They claim that it doesn't support newer books. (Backward compatibility is a dirty word with Audible). I have used this app for well over fifty books and not a single one doesn't work. If this really is a problem I have suggested that they put the app into section of the web site marked achieved apps with a clear message that it may not work with all books. Oh no this would cost us money! Yes, it would, say, with gross exaggeration about 1 GB of storage as a maximum. Hard Disk space is now running at about £15 per terabyte retail. So divide the 15 by 1000 and we get one point five pence. Shock horror so much money out of our profits!

This is basically a scam
Audible is basically a scam beware! On my Amazon account I have several cards, Audible charged my 70 yr old friends credit card, every month since January 2022 through June when she happened to be looking over the charges. I have never even purchased a book but they charged her every month. If it had been on my credit card I would have notice and canceled much faster. Be very weary of this company very dirty. I did reimburse my friend 80.00 and canceled the so called membership I had never used but paid for. Very dirty practice on their side and reading all the comments I see I am by far NOT the first person to have an issue.

I try not to write bad reviews but this business has become a total scam
The provided a great service for years but I am concerned whoever has taken over the customer service division actually hates books and the people who read them. Let's donate this company to Russia.

It is frustrating when they unpause the membership by themselves and start charging again
It is frustrating when they unpause the membership by themselves and start charging again. I think such a big company shouldn't cheat their customers.

No more Windows 10
Audible does not work anymore with Windows 10 since Jan 2022. Personally, I will not go to Windows 11 as the reviews for that are very bad. I asked Audible about fixing this. Their decision to expire Windows 10 compatibility was a conscious and deliberate one. The customer service was NOT helpful. There only advice was to submit a suggestion. My issue is, that this company charges a monthly fee on top of the cost to buy an audiobook. Because Windows 10 is retired from Audible, you cannot download and save the audiobook YOU PAID FOR without Windows 11! It is in their 'cloud' for 10. So, if you don't have ay internet access, you cannot listen to your audiobook. This was a bad move by them, and I will NOT be staying with them. I can buy the audiobook CD and save it to my Windows 10 PC. Customer service was not pleasant, and they do not care about potential customers. My iphone does not have enough memory to hold a complete audiobook, so this is very IMPRACTICAL. The point of paying for something is to own it, and to have access whenever you want. If you like keeping your money on the cloud, or want to go to an intrusive program like Windows 11, by all means do what you like. But, buyers beware. Always know your options, and what you are getting yourself into.

If Your income is so perfect why are…
If Your income is so perfect why are you wasting your energy and screaming in the WEBINAR and trying to convince people and begging to join..I don't understand..
The reason why I listened to your begging session is to see how you are trying to come to the bottom line of your money and deposit..but well done..but you sound so begging and repeating the same thing again and again
I wish you all the best on your struggles..

False Advertisement if your promised something for becoming a member then don't keep their side of i
I began with the Free Trial, same as most. Got me a free Audio Book (I think... my memory is not so good due to head injury from the war) and also did purchase a few here and there. When the Trial Period was up, the one thing that caught my eye and made me feel good about continuing my membership was that they said members get 1 Free Credit per month to use on anything you wanted. After 3 months I had still not received a single Free Credit and said Ill wait one more month. Came and went with no credit. So I discontinued my membership and thank god I was able to keep the books I had purchased. It may be trivial to some, but during a time when COVID has kept people stuck at home, gas is $6 a gallon, etc... a free book is nice to have.

Inadequate and beneath all contempt
I have been double billed every month for a year.

I signed up through amazon, as such I have been in contact with a representative from amazon, some months prior to this review.

It seems that I also have an audible.de account, back from when I signed up to audible - the audible.de account is linked to my Audible app on the phone. I can't spend tokens/credits received from Audible.co.uk store.

The amazon representative told me, that he couldn't do anything on his end, but he had experienced a similar issue with another customer. He refered me to a contact-form to audible.com - they never got back to me.

Stay away!

Very disappointing
Despite the promises of "if you buy the book, you keep the book" upon discontinuing membership, they're as honest as Obama. 2 books out of 30+ am I now allowed access to, and many of the now forbidden, I did indeed purchase. Like the Mofia, I have to pay a fee to be able to still access them. I will absolutely never pay another dime to Audible.

I have been listening to books on…
I have been listening to books on Audible for years and have loved every moment of it. I've had no need to go to customer service because I've never had a problem. I have listened to over two hundred books without difficulty. I love it.

Monthly charge more than the books, terrible customer service!
I used Audible for several months but most of the books I got with the $16 credit, could be ordered for less. When I cancelled the service, I didn't receive any cancellation notice and then was charged again the next month. I tried to dispute the charge with Amazon, but the only links to chat or email didn't work. I filed a complaint with the BBB and after going back and forth with an English challenged rep by email, I realized that each email was the same canned answer stating that they couldn't find my account (even though I sent screen shots of my account page). The email also said I should just dispute the charge with my bank, which I did. Still waiting for resolution.
